Hi All,

I've noticed in the past month or so I'm no longer able to pickup a bunch of transponders on the 52.0E sat, this is using my fixed 90CM dish that typically was picking them up with about 60-70% signal. I wondered if the beams had changed or anyone else having better luck with bigger dishes before I re-align another one.

The first transponder in this list (10845H) for example doesn't LOCK.

The east beam transponders are considerably weaker here than they used to be. West beam stuff is still full strength. Dont know if thats my dishes needing realignment after some ferocious gales though

MENA has never ben received here.

EDIT - Ah - according to the modulation type the ALEM package is now 16APSK. Most home reception equipment wont receive that.

16APSK! Surely thats bad for their business. Millions of receivers people can no longer use. I wonder if one of my TBS devices supports it hmm.

Going 16APSK is probably to stop home viewers watching it illegally - so GOOD for business :D

That too... Although I have a real Alem TV card! oh well. Seems it scans well with my TBS devices. I can figure out the last hop to get it into my e2 box.

Where did you manage to get the card from? I looked around but couldn't find anything.

Yeah it's not easy to find at all and I have to renew it soon. I got it domestically during a trip.

Some e2 box, lock 16APSK with s2x tunners like EDISION OS MIO+ 4K, OCTAGON SF8008 4K, ZGEMMA H7S 4K, DM920

Thanks! Was just looking into that. I have a Vu+ with S2X but seems they don’t do 16APSK dissapiointingly

What tunner is your VU+ S2X 45208x fbc or 45308x fbc ?

Also when scan are you try with 8PSK, instead 16APSK, because on some e2 box not scan with 16APSK, even mux is 16APSK, its scanned only with 8PSK.

So 10845 H 30000 3/4 16APKS, try yo scan it with 8PSK on manual scan.

I have 2 tuners on my VU+

7376 FBC and an AVL 2108 (non-FBC). I only tried with the FBC tuner so far.

I have a Zgemma H8.2H laying about un-used somewhere, gonna dig it out tomorrow and try it. I can't find much searching around about the tuner, but "AI" seems to think it supports 16/32 APSK. Al also says a VU+ Zero 4k supports 16/32 APSK and uses the BCM 72604 chipset... but I heard all VU+ doesn't support it by driver... will try both

Hello
You heard it right, VU Plus is ending its life.

In addition to 10845 H, 10887 H also uses 16APSK.

Happy New Year 2026 to everyone!

Thanks. What software is this? I can scan using my TBS USB devices in Linux, but on Windows I can't get any results in either ProgDVB and DVBDream and they're slow and buggy too.

It is the Crazyscan app. You can download CrazyCat's library (StreamReader, ReqlLib, Crazyscan) and assemble the app.
With the DVB card you have, you can then scan the satellite.

Thanks! Seems my card (TBS 5927) can pick-up these transponders... yet when scanning with tvheadend to actually watch them, it sees nothing even with correct config. Hmm.
