TVCABO Terrible Quality?

Hello guys!

does anybody else experience shit quality on the TVCabo channels i.e mtv base?
 
Alright here, have you tuned your dish in properly.
 
I am certain my dish is 100% fine its a 80cm motorised and can receive lots of sats. all have very good quality. but on 11577 V 27500 the channels are bad quality are they bad quality for you?
 
I have to agree. TCM's picture quality at present is like a VCR with a badly misaligned tape path, dropping out occasionally.

Just checked the video resolution offered by TCM at present - 480x576 compared to, say, Teq*lla - top quality at 720x576. Not good enough.

Tvkabo quality really sucks :P Every channel as low quality. (even if receiver sais 99%).
It's not our problem, it's their problem (tvcabo). Even if you have their original card and receiver the quality will stil be bad, or even worse! But it's all we've got in portugal :(
 
Well I can't understand it as I'm getting an excellent picture (79% picture quality) on all channels from transponder 11577V, 27500, and that includes MTV Base.

May be you should all consider getting Technomate receiver's. :-rofl2
 
The % quality is fine Rob, it's the resolution of the sent signal that's the problem. They're not the only provider who fall short though. Cheapskates 'O'-red

Still find this strange Llew as I have just checked the six Lusomundo Film channels and picture is OK and Sport TV is OK all on 11851H & 11891H, Venus is even better picture quality on 12012V with 87% picture quality.
On TCM picture quality is 79% but is scrambled so can't say much about the picture itself.
 
Yes they're using 544x576 resolution now, which is reasonable for 4:3 pictures, but still short of maximum, which is needed for widescreen.

I understand certain providers are not above 'pinching' bandwidth from channels on the same transponder that are showing slow-action content and enhancing premium channels showing fast-action films etc.

ROB how big is your tv, if its under 30" then you wont notice but if it is a 50" like mine or llew then you will notice.

At the end of the day they are broadcasting at a mere 2.1mbps bitrate whereas most chanels are 5.5mbps to 10mbps so it cannot be helped if we have a cheapy technomate or a solid echostar,

I see now, I have a 32" widescreen but if you buy something as big as a 50" you have to expect that from time to time you are going to have these sort of problems it's one of the reasons that I never got one that big, the other being the wife would have killed me. :)

Think at the end of the day most people will settle for a good picture on a 32", rather than shit quality on a 50".

What size television screen do you have ?
 
Well no.because on EVERY other channel it is crystal quality and id rather have a big 50" good quality than a midged 32"

Well rage not according to Llew because he says that other provider's are doing the same thing, so may be it's something that you are going to have get used to, and that's starting with TV Cabo.

Must admit it seems a shame to have paid out all that money and you end up with "shit quality", (your words not mine) on some channels.
If you want to watch anything on TV Cabo your always welcome to come round to my place and watch my cheapy setup, it's not much but at least it works. :)

hello, I have a LG plasma 42" hdtv 16:9. With "normal" crt tv's image looks good. But with d+ I can see a great image quality improvement comparing to tvkabo. (i'm from portugal so I have 99% signal and quality on both providers.

The Premiere package on 19E 12.032V is just as bad.

MGM comes in at 480X576, with an average bitrate of 1.242Mbps. Premiere Austria a godawful low of 535kbps.

Premiere package bad? are you joking?

I have a 50" Panasonic plasma and the Premiere package got excellent quality, like watching a DVD from a highend player.
 
I should have been more specific Likvid. I was just referring to the 'also ran' channels on that TP. No problem with the portal channels (Premiere Direkt), they're the ones hugging the bandwidth.

Likvid are you able to receive TV Cabo and if so what is the picture quality like on your 50".
