Hello,

Sorry if my post is in wrong place

I came across a switch box (probably in 12 V)
I don't remember how it was used, I know I used it probably over 15 years or more!

this is an Anttron brand switch ref: A930815S

If someone recognizes or remembers this type of switch box I am looking for what it could have been used for?

Looks like it might be an amplifier to me. Although more like one for a terrestrial aerial rather than a satellite LNB.
 
Could be a frequency up/down converter like an ADX Plus type device that was used to receive Astra 1D in the analogue days.
 
It's not for terrestrial aerial, I'm sure, I thought it was connected to an Echostar SR 8700 or sr 5500/6500

The fact that it has screw terminals for the RF cables strongly suggests to me that it IS a 2-way switch (maybe with an amp as well?) for terrestrial antenna cables - Sat cable connections have used F-connectors for as long as I have been using Sat receivers and dishes (since 1991 IIRC :-rofl2 ), and that included the ADX PLUS and similar devices!

B&Q sell screw-type F-connector face plates. No idea if they do the biz efficiently enough. I don't suppose a professional would use it, maybe OK for a Saturday morning quick fix for a neighbour, though using one with F-connector sockets would obviously be easier.

Most new builds and apartment blocks will have modules with saddle and clamp for satellite, but they are not normally open like that, they'll be screened.

From Cardiff's enlargement's, it appears to be a smart priority switch, with default receiver and secondary option.

it s an up or down converter : its a device that existed in 80s for moving a part of spectrum band like with telecom1b (12500-12750)
or for receiver imported from USA witch had 950-1450mhz range, to reach 1450-1950mhz 500mhz lower .

From google, wikselaar sat trading used to be a 'partner' for Canal Digitaal, wonder if this was used when the first astra sat( forget which one) was launched which extended the KU band down to 10.70 from 10.95. There weren't too many receivers/LNBs that could receive the 'new' frequencies at the time without something like this. Possibly Canal Digitaal moved to these frequencies at that time.
