With a 17 inch mini dish the sun interference season starts in the southern part of UK on the 5'th of October and ends in the northern parts of UK on the 18'th of October. Normally the satellites today is high power and normally it will not result in interruptions if the antenna is aligned correctly. Anyway it reduces the signal to noise ratio (digital quality). The potential sun interference is far more intense on larger antennas used in fringe areas but larger antennas also shorten the duration . The day with most intense interference for London is 11'th of October and peak is at approximately at 12:43 BST / 11:43 GMT(UTC). Affected area of potential sun interference can be plotted in near real time at Sun Outage Visualizer for Geostationary Satellites - Projects area affected by potential Sun outage - Jens T. Stre - -http://www.satellite-calculations.com but contains google map features not working in IE. Time&date can be predicted at Sun Outage / Sun Interference Prediction for Geostationary Orbit Satellites - Jens T. Stre - -http://www.satellite-calculations.com which also works in IE. Attached is a screenshot example which shows the affected area for a 17 inch dish on the 11'th of October at 12:42 BST / 11:42 GMT(UTC).
