my situation is this.... i got given a Sky Digi box, and plugged my Coax from my 1.1m motorised dish into it, rang sky and had a card sent out with a subscription to the Family Pack.

ive now decided to upgrade to Sky+ now do i..

1, Ring sky tell them thats what i want to do and pay for the upgrade etc

or

2, Ring sky, cancel the package im on now, go to comet and buy a new Sky+ package....thereby also getting an engineer round fitting me a seperate dish for sky etc

as you can see, the problem with option 1 is that i would end up with a sky+ box still sharing my dish with my Dreambox, option 2 might seem like the obvious choice, but will sky know what im up to?

There shouldn't be any problem with ringing Sky, just tell them that you will need a minidish as well.

If your other half has a different second name from you it is easy, just cancel the old one "because you are moving abroad", then after a couple of weeks subscribe under your other half's name and get the cheap deal. :)

I think comet is selling an older model with 40gbThe sky+ only must be the new 80gb.Check which sky+ model you get with multiroom.Multiroom is good at 46 per month if you are going to have both boxes on with different channels. Are both sky+ and the second box on the full pack?

thats still good.2 x sports pack is 72 per month so a big saving there especially for a big family, watch one, record another, watch another in other room, record two, watch another,or record three(with video) etc etc:confused :confused

I know that with multiroom you have to have both boxes connected to the phone line, but can you put the second box in another house and connect it to that phone line?

buy the sky+ box online as you can get them cheaper seen them for 150 with the quad lnb _http://www.simplydigital.co.uk/acatalog/Sky_Plus_Receivers.html and buy the dish and install it your self then get sky to upgrade your card for the sky + features

oh no... sting in the tail!!!

spoke to sky again tonight talking about the fact i dont have a dish... now they want £99 to install it... so they have already had £89 and now they want another £99
starting to feel ripped off (fancy sky making someone feel ripped of eh!)

i mentioned the fact that i saved them that when they didnt install one in the first place! they replied with, "when you buy a second hand system we only supply subscription"
deep down i know they are right, but £99 :( i would have happily paid about £40...
caused a right royal row with me and the misses, she wanted to cancel everything, just on principle.
but i need the channels :( they got me over a barrel, so ive paid

Looks like £99 at comet is very cheap now!!

I will never learn :(

you could have bought a sky dish with quad lnb and fitted it your self and would have cost no more than 50 quid ish and just bought a sky + box
