USB Drive not ready on 6900 combo

getting the above message when ever i plug a pen drive into the USB port and try to browse files, tried 2 different ones. anything i should know?

I do not know the stb TM 6900HD but if it is Linux based then the pen drive will need to be formatted in Linux to be recognised

It is not Linux. When you plug the stick in it should work fine. The message will appear whenever a drive is plugged in, and then after a short delay it should work. Does yours?

formatted to FAT32, says USB drive not ready when trying to bring the file menu up (or press record) and says USB drive not attatched when I use the menu function. Hmmm might have a dud here.

ive bought a 1 TB external drive and still get same message on the screen. annoying

I had a similar problem when I tried to use a 100GB drive I took from a laptop. I think it was probably formatted in NTFS and the receiver would not see it. I found that formatting it using the receiver sorted it out. You can find this in - USB - Disk Manager - Format Disk /USB0 but be careful if you have more than one drive connected as it may not be USB0, it's best to connect the drive you want to format only. I hope this helps.

try to plug stick in to ur comp and give him a formatating,comp will scan him and fix it and than should workt at least worked for me... good luck!
