Hi

I have been given a Pace mss 100 i!

can i connect my exting dish with digital LNB pointing at astra 1 to it or will i neeed a analog LNB ?

Thanks Mark

It will be ok.

Universal is exactly that, having a 9.75 & 10.6 local oscillator. Without a 22KHz tone from the receiver to switch the LNb into the high band, the LNb will remain in low band (9.750) and will receive an IF signal from 950 -1950MHz.

The MSS100 has the ability to use a Universal LNB as it has tone switching, so you're good to go... :)

And a little note; There's no difference between an LNB used for Analogue or Digital, the only differences are whether they are the ancient 10GHz LNB, an Enhanced 9,750MHz LNB or Universal 9,750/10,600MHz LNB. All this nonsense about calling them Analogue, Digital or HD is just sellers trying to sell you something that you don't actually need... ;)

Did wonder whether it had an LNb setting adjustment. It's been a while :D

All Pace MSS series receivers do... :)

I had done it and it worked fine some sparklys on some channels, that could be down to dish size but other then that is was all ok :)

I'm sure someone can give you a much more comprehensive answer.. but I'm sure some pace boxes have tuning issues which could lead to sparklies.. but I may be talking complete rubbish as it's from memory.

A 60cm dish in good weather on Astra 19.2e should not really have any sparklies.

Sparklies can be purely down to frequency variations on LNBs, so if the channels were fine tuned on an old LNB, but then connected to a new LNB, the LO may be slightly different, also worth checking skew.:)

I had alot of dead channels because i can't scan as i have no remote :(. so using the power button and up and down buttons :P

the rear F connection is different aswell i don't know why :S so push the plug in with some black pvc tape sorted :).

Over 200 channels where stored on the system including sky 1 when it was on astra 1 :P

Im now trying to get a free used skydigi box, probs one of the early ones :P, already have a sky + and i have a sky HD just need the old digi box .

Dunno why, I guess they just thought it would be hand incase you lost one... :D

Or they just had to get rid of them...

Once i get the remote and i will put some pictures up of the sytem display and of 19.2 analog :)
