How long ago did channel 5 start lol

16 years ago, I remember the day it started too cos I was the only one in the house who could pick it up on my rigged up setup... :p

So someone's 10 years out... :D

Well yes a decade ahead of my time for the fifth but the channel reception was fine on all four, slip of the finger or senility, you decide

Whilst that may have been a novelty for some, we have always paid our way and are now suffering the consequences of that.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

One would now be far better off had the Poll tax been kept under its original incarnation.

The "rates" system? I missed all that being an 80's birth, but often hear how much better it was than Thatcher's poll tax... :confused

Well, that's that thread officially off topic... :-rofl2

But to bring it back on, I made myself an aerial earlier in the year, all I used were a couple of equal lengths (I think about 30cm, probably wrong for the frequencies involved) of copper wire and one of them aerial plugs with the 2 screws on them, put it all together and it works nicely being so close to Pontop Pike, it's pretty much a more advanced coat hanger aerial, but it does the job, most of the time... :D
