Has anyone experienced a VBOX count suddenly increasing when nudging the dish with the east/west buttons? Twice in two days now the count has jumped by about 180 with one press. The VBOX is a standalone NextVision and the actuator is a cheap reed sensor Superjack copy. Other than that all seems to be working fine and the dish moves between both limits without issue. Any thoughts appreciated :)

This screams of either a poor connection to the reed sensor or the sensor is just knackered. Could also be a dry joint inside the V-Box generating rogue pulses.

Try reversing the two sensor connections. Then invert the magnetic wheel in the actuator.

Is your four/five wire cable to the dish screened on the reed side ??

The cable isn't screened, also the spring clips on the V-Box don't grip the cable particularly tightly. Have reversed the cables and flipped the wheel. Where the cable enters the actuator it runs directly over the wheel which can't be helping. Also have an Echostar D-2510 IP to try.

It is a precious object.
It seems more and more difficult to find them.
The prices have exploded.
Hope you can fix it.

The D-2510IP conked after a couple of hours, just like my AD-3000IP did, so back to the V-Box. I've noticed it buzzes as soon as it's plugged in, though having the V-Box at any angle other than flat causes the buzzing to stop.

It's that mahoosive transformer that's buzzing. In my case, the four screws that hold it down to the bottom of the case became loose. Tightening them up resolved that particular issue.
