If you have a similar situation in future you can always try turning off the page style so only a simple page layout is used by the browser.

It is also useful when pages are not rendered properly when surfing elsewhere e.g. with pictures over the text or an odd mix of large and small fonts, etc. In fact, I have already used it earlier this morning on a website with too small fonts and some picture layout problems.

In Firefox go to View - Page Style - No Style.

Try it now and you will see what I mean.

It is a very useful feature at times.

That it puts what should be an ordered list into a random order suggests it is a bug that should be investigated by the coders.

I agree about the random ordering of atachments. It didn't matter about mine above but I DID tick them for the reverse of what happened.

Now, what about the blank space that I showed in the screenshot that I attached.

BTW, IE8 on Windows XP Pro SP3, if it's relevent.

But seriously - no idea. The Forum also seems inconsistent with respect to other things eg Whether or not the Thanks button is present at any given time. Ditto whether that info is shown in the public user profiles as opposed to just via Control Panel.

I use Safari and it all seems to run quite well. I thought the upload of attachments had reverted to the older basic model, just tested it and it is like it was.
 
Any chance of sorting out the acres of wasted space?

(The upload attachments is the new, convoluted version for me)

I don't see those spaces Paul, displays as was for me. Which version of IE do you use?

Regarding the attachments, go into your profile, options and switch off advanced attachment management.

Just tried it with IE8 and it makes a real mess of the page, obviously doesn't like the legacy postbit, or one of the hacks.
 
Chris has now fixed that Paul, but i have to say that on going back to IE8 to test it, I realised how slow it is compared to Safari.:)

Thanks for getting it sorted - I doubt that Llew and I were the only ones suffering. I'm sure the problem lies with IE8.
