Very First Installation

The blue line sounds like signal quality, and 75% is good, but now you need to scan for channels, to find out which satellite you're actually aligned on.
You mention that you were trying to get 9E, but various satellites share the same frequency so try scanning all the satellites and when you get some channels please post the details, frequencies, polarity and Symbol Rate, as well as the channels identity.
If you find some FTA channels check the channel ident.

ok - this is what is on my tv screen now, is this looking good?

Please don't don't post live links off site. Also, it's much better to upload the photo to the servers here.

OK... sorry about that... i'll try and post the pic here...... but i can't see how to do this.....
 
But what we really want you to do is scan that position and tell us what Channels come up ................. that will tell us if you really are on 9E or have hit another Satellite.

At this stage, the fact that you choose to use a pre-stored data table ("satellite") is not necessarily entirely relevant.

ie If you leave the dish where it is and select eg Hotbird or Astra 1 on your list, you'll also get readings.

Please see earlier Posts, which partly explain why.

OK - done a scan, the first channel that comes up is tve, then Canal 24, AVA Music, Tak TV, Telesure all on transponder 11.726(V). Then i jumps to tve internacional on 11.731 (V)

The channels i am looking for are 12.092(H) tp69 but this is not on the scan list. The nearest that is coming up is 12.072 (H)

You're on Hotbird, 13E, by the look of it.

Yup.

Close - but no cigar!

You need to move the dish from 13E, which is where it actually is pointing, to 9E.

That is quite a small movement towards the west and also a slight increase in elevation may be required.

Well you've done the hard work actually finding a Satellite and proving which one it is.

The rest is a doddle.

We'll sort out any missing Transponders once you've got the right bird.

PS: I'm intrigued by your target TP. Disney Cinemagic España, Sundance HD etc.

Care to tell us more?
 
Once you've got best Strength/Quality by alignment, don't forget to optimise LNB skew.

The correct position will be clockwise rotation (while looking from LNB towards dish) to roughly 1 o'clock. ie the cable outlet will be roughly at 7 o'clock.

This gets you best reception on Channels of both Horizontal and Vertical polarisation.

should be Telefonica - looking to get real madrid TV. Now - i've moved the dish slightly, will the transponder value change when i've hit the right bird coz right now, i think i'm still on HB13....... :confused:
 
All you do to prove which Satellite you're on is scan and compare received Channels with published listings on eg Flysat, Lyngsat, KingofSAt.

If you are still on Hotbird, move the dish further West.

In fact, why don't you simply manually add the missing TP to your 9E listing in the Receiver (Add Transponder) and just use that for detecting signal?

12092 on Hotbird carries a Sky Italia bouquet, so you can quickly tell if you are still getting a sniff of 13E or, if you get Real Madrid, you are on 9E.

OK - i deffo got Sky Italia. Don't look like i can manually enter the tp - just inexperience i guess. I have the list for eurobird 9 from lyngsat and the first channel should be Arquiva on 11727 (V)
 
Well forget the TP stuff for now, then. We can sort that out with an Auto Scan at the end (Or a TM user can give you specific instructions for Manual addition)

Shove that dish a bit more to the West!!

ok. I have turned the dish as far west as it would go and then gently started turning it back the other way. (e should come before 13e so i've just picked up a 'first' good signal which should be eurobird 9.

Am i thinking about this the right was around?? :confused:
 
Not really sure what you're up to there, "turning it as far West" ................... all you needed to do was move it 4 degrees west of Hotbird, which isn't at all far. As you know, 9E is the very next strong Satellite after Hotbird.

Each to their own, though!

And don't forget the elevation might need to be increased a very small amount. A degree or so.

I think this box is allergic to picking up Eurobird9!! Still working on it......

That's what i tried to do - but i can't see where and how to change it.
