got a fair bit of virginmedia coax cable in place around the house, has any one had any experience of whether this will work with a satellite receiver.

If possible, will be attempting to connect a coax cable from the LNB and connect to a VirginMedia Coax as it already goes through a wall, what device would be required to join them both.

Thanks,

will work to an extent
but virgin coax is mainly tin as
satellite coax is mainly copper
to join them you need a f plug barrel connector
me myself ide change the coax for satellitee coax
if you have virgin coax going through the wall
just pull it out and thread the new coax through the same hole

I would recommend connecting one to the other before pulling out the old cable, so that you pull the new cable through using the old one otherwise you may end up spending hours fiddling about with old wire coathangers
