Which thread?

I am also using AVG Pro and mine has not flagged up anything.

Hello.
I am not sure which thread it was, and i was so concerned that I closed my browser to deal with the threat. I am sorry that I can't be of more help.

Just checked through the first page of posts using Black Widow _http://softbytelabs.com/us/bw/index.html, download it and use the Net Spy function, it will tell you what the page is actually loading when surfing.

The only pages I found which could be causing an alarm (although it would be a false one), were a couple of the birthday threads, where offsite smilies were being used. Have now moved these onto our server.

If you get the message again, please take a screen shot, or at the very least copy the URL for me, so that I can investigate.

Thanks for letting us know. :)

It is also worth running a virus scan and downloading a dedicated spyware/trojan scanner, as it may be that you have a browser hijacker on your PC.

I had the same virus last week when I was browsing the Sub-Forums : DISH SETUP: Single sat, Multi-Sat & Motorised systems.
Some links came up as blank pages and AVG flagged the virus and healed it. Tried today but unable to find it. If I had known it was necessary I would have reported back. Live and learn.:)

Yes always want to know if anything is ringing alarm bells, as there should be no malware on the site at all. :)

I had exactly the same anishka[1].htm "virus" yesterday - 10 Oct 2007 - also picked up and isolated by AVG free edition.

I had just clicked on the Classified section at the top of the page, then satellite accessories (I think). The actual page is not relevant because I think the problem is Java and not this site. AVG seems to flag some Java temp files as "viruses".

I installed Java many months ago when I was unable to log on to a particular internet bank account without Java. Can think of any reason I would want to use Java any more so yesterday I uninstalled it from my PC.

Might be an interesting discussion for the PC forum - what is the point of Java and is there any good reason for anyone having it installed on their PC?

Unfortunately a lot of page utilities run on Java applets and the functionality of many websites depend on it.
