Anybody knows the name of materials (plastic composite, non-composite etc) used in back structure of a typical VSAT antenna in the following images used in satellite broadband connectivity ?
Not FRP in Picture-1. May be a mixture with other gypsum based compound in Picture-2On Channel Master type dishes I believe they call it glass fibre reinforced polyester.
Picture-1 showing strip like ribs are SMC ? (I doubt)
Looks like a 1.2m Channel Master type dish, the datasheet says FRP.Not FRP in Picture-1.
I read many such data sheets. As more than 75% parts of reflector are made from FRP they (=manufacturers) simply put "mechanical reflector -: FRP or SMC with some suffix ".Looks like a 1.2m Channel Master type dish, the datasheet says FRP.
You have clearly not read the link I provided. Not FRP in Picture-1. May be a mixture with other gypsum based compound in Picture-2
Picture-1 showing strip like ribs are SMC ? (I doubt)
Picture-2 may be SMC with high percentage of any hard/rigid ingredient/ingredients.
I think SMC only pressed over reflective metal mesh on mould only. These are other type of materials (not sure)!!
Sorry your provided link was insufficient to confirm these structures are of SMCYou have clearly not read the link I provided.
.You have clearly not understood the content of the link I provided either.Sorry your provided link was insufficient to confirm these structures are of SMC.
