Hi,

I'm a newbie so apologies if this is a daft question but here goes......I have recently bought a VU Duo + box. I've noted if I power off at the socket or perform a "Deep Standby" I then get a message saying "No HDD found or HDD not initialized". Then I lose all the previously recorded programs on the HDD !

Is this by design or a fault on my system. The box is running VTI release 4.1.

Thanks,

Mine does exactly the same - although it seems to lose track of it it even just when left in standby.

Black Hole firmware on mine, and its another black mark for the Vu+ as far as Im concerned..

I have had a Duo an Ultimo and i now own an Uno and out of all of them i have never encountered this problem and i place my box into deep standby every night. The only thing i can suggest is try another image or do a reflash of your current image and when done initialise the hard drive before you do anything else, from the sounds of it the Hard drive is not formatted in either EXT3 or EXT4 and this is maybe why your having problems.

I have a Vu+ Duo with the standard V 7.0 Vu+ firmware.
Does everything I need.
I have a 250G hard drive installed and have never had a problem in Deep Stand-by with the hard disk.

I'd try going back to Vu+ official firmware.

You would then know if it was an incompatibility with your HDD.

Can you still read the recorded programmes on a PC if you take the drive out ?

Thanks

Which file do I download as there does not seem to be a Duo file listed here?

vuplus-image-vuuno-20120203014857_usb.zip
release_note.txt
vuplus-image-bm750-20120203012328_usb.zip

vuplus-image-vusolo-20120203013737.nfi
vuplus-image-vusolo-20120203013737_usb.zip
vuplus-image-vuultimo-20120203020150_usb.zip
uplus-image-vuultimo-20120203020150.nfi
vuplus-image-vuuno-20120203014857.nfi

Also, do I need to just download to a bootable USB key and power up the box? Is it that simple?

thanks

MODERATION NOTE

All of your list were live links to nowhere even though they were internal ones!

You need the BM750 ones. You may also need to pre load the cfe_3_0 boot-loader. Instructions are all on Vu+ pages

Thanks all

I re-installed the o/s and all working fine - thanks again.

Out of curiosity, which image did you finally re-install ?
