The VU+ Duo is an old receiver, you can pick up some very good replacements, like the Octagon series, and many others, for a lot cheaper than you bought the VU+ Duo, and it will have a lot more features.
The Octagon SF8008 is a great box for the money.

Thanks will take a look. Just need something half decent with PVR features. Even HD is fine as she doesnt sub to the movies/etc on Skylink, just the general entertainment channels.

Second hand is fine, but has to be delivered so will check eBay. My wifes a front line Nurse, so don't want to break lockdown for a Sat box. More for the sake of the seller, as we're probably higher risk :(

World of Sat have the OCTAGON SF8008 S2X for £105. Would rather spend less given she will only use if for SkyLink but tempted to get it over and done with :D

Presume that takes external USB HDD only?

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

It might be able to take two since there are a pair of ports on the case

Only need one. Would just prefer if it was internal to save clutter/space in comms cupboard.

Hmmm doesn’t look like it has a CAM slot. Not sure I want to mess around with soft cams since I have a CW CAM and card.

It's made in China therefore not something I would buy.

Fair point.

Any brands you would recommend? The Mutant HD51 was another I was looking at, but can't find it anywhere and newer version has no CI slot.

Oops forgot to attach pictures of the motor :)

If the cable that is connected to the motor output to the lnb is cranked, it is also not the best way to be connected.
