My Satellite Setup
Vu plus duo fixed sky dish and motorised dish.
My Location
Cheshire
Afternoon all I am new to the forum so please go easy. I have just fitted a motorised dish and had bought a vu plus duo. I am waiting for a pal of mine to help me set the dish up with his meter. In the meantime I have connected my Sky dish. Configured tuner to single and the second equal. I performed an auto scan and found lots of channels. The problem I have is that the epg works fine, as do the radio channels, but when I try any of the tv channels I get a black screen. The channel info is all there when middle button is pressed. I am beginning to think I have a dodgy box. Please help.
 
Do the free channels work?

Have you done a complete scan of 28E?
 
No they don't work when your on a freer air channel the screen just goes black. But if you press the select button it comes up with the programme info. Not really sure what I have done a scan of but there are no hd channels. How do I change what I'm scanning.
 
On the BH image Ive got its menu - setup - service searching, then automatic or manual.
 
Just configure tuner 1, Leave tuner 2 as not configured.

Its probably switching to tuner 2 which i'm asuming has no cable connected to it.

If you have 2 cables, I.E Sky+ just set both tuners up as 28.2e.

You then need to do a manual tune on 28.2e. Set it up so it tunes the satellite not a single transponder.

positioner
then input your co-ordinates eg cheshire 53°23′N 2°36′W

but leave the second tuner off until you have the dish working properly.

You can download channel listing via the web rather than scanning 28.2e on the black hole image its green then yellow for the downloads.
 
Thanks will try later and let you know. Isn't positioner for motorised dishes? I am beginner tho.
 
Yes you will use that setting once you have your motor dish aligned up
 
Chris sorry to be a pain but I want to use the box so I can record two channels at once of my minidish until I get my motorised dish set up.

Tuner B Simple,single, 28.2

but you will need to separate cables from your minidish.so if you had sky + or sky hd then you will have both the cables needed.
 
Horray I have picture only foun 13 channels tho, were are all the free to air hd channels. Also can't seen to download channel list of the Internet, could someone please help me thru that one.
 
Please list those 13 Channels .............. so we can see what they have in common and perhaps what all the missing channels have in common.

(I'm thinking "LNB Settings")

Well thats 28E - 11836H to be precise.
 
So you are getting results from one single Transponder!

That suggests however you are scanning, it ain't right.

Not familiar with Vu+ menus, sadly, but someone will be ..............
 
Yoiu need the manual scan section then select type of scan - scroll right till you get single satellite, and make sure Astra 2 is selected. Then hit ok
