Advice Needed Washing Machine Dilema

Quite.

My routine as described above has kept the seal pristine for seven years, since I fitted it. No limescale problem here, fortunately. t'water is jolly soft.

Mind you, the (Candy) machine is now eleven years old, so any failure will entail purchase of a new one.

Nowadays, I generally buy Bosch power tools as I have never had one fail on me - and some of them have been severely maltreated.
OTOH, have had a couple of Bosch dish washers fail after 7-8 years.
 
When our dishwasher fails, I just buy her a new Tea Towel.

Lesson already learnt then!
Unfortunately our London water is very hard, and that's probably what did for at least one of the dishwashers.

Unfortunately, I'm the one who does most of the washing up/loading & unloading the dishwasher, and we already have enough tea towels (which I don't want to have to use very often :rolleyes:).
 
The last washer we had (Creda Simplicity 1200), the lower concrete block fell off mid-spin and, well, you must have seen Photonicinduction's washer videos by now, cos it did a good impression of one of his videos, it was about 15 years old, and I had replaced the drum support the previous year, so was rather annoyed at that, so, for £35, I got another, well, sort-of, a Hotpoint WM53, which internally is exactly the same machine, so, plenty spares to last another 20 years... :D

I too am the main operator of our dish-washer (the machine, that is).
So I guess in both our households, we are both doing the dishes in more than one way :-rofl2
 
There's no space in our kitchen for a dishwasher.......





.....except the bit in front of the sink where I stand.

You have my "sympathy" (well, sort of!):-lol

OTOH, we didn't have room for a dishwasher (and, later, only a slimline version) until I moved the washing m/c to the then-new exterior "lean-to" utility area that was added in the late 1990's.
