Watching New Zealand Satellite channels in Malaysia

Hi i just moved to Malaysia from NZ and want to watch tv channels from NZ. I have dreambox 500S and dish. Is it possible to tune to NZ satellite? NZ uses Optus.

Doubtful. Optus D1 at 160 uses a spot beam for New Zealand that is fairly tight onto the islands, and Malaysia is a very long way from NZ.

The only other option is via broadband if you have it, using something like a slingbox.

Just got another question. Can i use any PCI DVB brand and be able to watch scrambled channels if i use the correct software and know how?

Possibly. Only if the keys are available for the channels(s) you want to watch.

i heard on dr dish tv,in the past,that the reception,of other satelites,from other countrys,not allowed by the malysian goverment!
is this true,or not?

I also heard about that Turok. Seems that only malayan satellites are allowed to be aimed to but who cares ? I believe in such countries you can buy with money everything, even rights.

To the initial question:
In Malaysia you cannot get NZ Beams. Even in Eastern Australia they use huge dishes to get a part of them. So the slingbox would be the most comfortable solution if you have somebody in NZ with high upstream that can offer it to you.
