Water Consumption

Sorry, thought you were going to use the urinal for everything. ;)

I really can't see the problem with lifting the seat, is it too complex a set of movements, similarly with putting it back down.

If it were possible, I'm sure some men would!!! :-rofl2

As for the toilet seat, well, you're right, how difficult is it for a woman to lower the seat when she needs to then lift it again after use? :D

Must be a Northern thing. :-lmao

Well here in Germany pissing while standing is a big nono....most antisocial thing to do...But I refuse to sit down while pissing, the minute I could stand that's the way I am doing it. All you got to do is keep a good aim...and anyway, its about time they come up with a toilet that will be more suitable for the dual function!

I always knew there was something odd about Germans... :-rofl2

After all, how do they pee when, erm, "excited"?

You silly silly Engländer! Ze German Mann vill only attempt sexual arrousal of his male organ, ja? AFTER his bladder has been emtptied in a TÜV approved toilet bowl (sitting of course) beforehand (according to regulation). Planning is the key to success!

Have you not heard of the delicately named problem called splashback with urinals?

I would think that the increased cleaning needed in the surrounding area would be a definite minus for your plans.

Splashback is not a problem as I wear spectacles and also it can be minimized using a personal funnel. See attached picture which shows different sizes to suit personal hoses.

What about just after you wake up? Eevery man knows it stands to attention after waking up (why though is a bit of a mystery!!!)!!! :D

Im still on a direct pipe to my house and dont intend on having a water meter until forced too.. i wash my cars too often ;) oh and water fights in summer are great....

You miss it you know you do LOL

I know someone whose house has a septic tank and they have a urinal in the bathroom to try and reduce the amount of water draining into the tank.

Don't see why this shouldn't become more popular, but I must admit I was a bit surprised the first time I saw it in their house.

i wanted one but the wife objected....

This thread is going down the drains ... :)

and ever wonder how space flights save on water ?

A urinal - but she objected. When I asked why she said because she don't like them. What is there to like or not like about a urinal??? You piss inside it, and it reduces the grief you get from her about the lid staying up and piss on the floor. But nooooooooo she don't like it....anyways, it's her hwo has to clean the room so it her problem. I am NOT sitting down! :-Nooo

Women are strange creatures, you offer them something to make their lives easier and they moan about it...

It might be simple jealousy, it is a male only device and would be rather difficult for her to use it.
Why not install one in the potting shed ?

There has been the age old debate on 'seat up or down'. In my opinion, if the seat is rarely lifted, the houseowner never gets to see the particles that have clung to the underside of the seat from splashback, from number twos, (or female number ones), or speaking to god.

So is the wall mounted urinal installation common in houses or not?
I must admit that I have never seen it here except in public places.
Could be because of the wives objection or the need for a larger lavatory room in order to accomodate it and the standard toilet and the extra cost for plumbing.
Using it can save a lot of water, especially in countries where you need to pray very hard in order to get some rainy days over the whole year.

I don't think it is common, the first time I saw one in a private home was 10 years ago when they made a program about Ozzy Osbourne's house in the UK (this was much before they became household names with their show). He had a urinal fitted, which I thought was a very good idea. If shaking hands Ozzy got one, and make no mistake, there ain't no bigger pisser than him, than thats a good idea. :-rofl2

There is another alternative, but, it's probably the worst of them all...

Use the bathroom sink...
