Hi to everyone. This is a very informative site, keep up the great work.
I am at the moment using my mobile to dial up the internet so it is very slow searching for info at the moment.
I have just upgraded to Sky HD and have a 1 year old Sky+ receiver now stuck in a cupboard.Anyone got some ideas what to do with it,ie put it in another room and if so what do i need (LNB,card etc)
I would only use it to view/record free channels.I do not intend to put a telephone line in another room too, will this be okay.
Thanks and hope to hear your replies.

Welcome to the forum Hellion, have moved your post to the Sky+ section, as it would be better to answer your question here. :)

With Sky HD in your main room, you should still have two ports available on your quad LNB on the dish, so just run a couple of cables to another room and you can use the Sky+ box for free to air channels. At the moment, you cannot use the recording facilities without a subscription, or without paying Sky £10 per month for the record feature to be activated, whether this remains the case long term is another question.

You could of course go for multiroom for £10 per month extra, which would give you a mirror subscription on the Sky+ box. :)

Rolf I have to say you are excellent

Thankyou for the welcome and the useful information rolfw.
I will check my LNB for those 2 extra ports when it stops raining.

Hi HELLION, Not when but IF it stops raining, joking aside yes 'Multi Room' is a good option if you require full 'Sky+' in the other room, you can also register with 'Sky' to just get normal 'Freevie' I think you might have to pay a 'one-off' payment on registering, apart from that on Ebay Sky+ boxs are bringing 50 to 80 pounds if you're thinking of selling.
Cheers Barrie
