Can anyone tell me what this is? I presume its Auto update but a little more info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Yes, that's it exactly. It's the ability to derive new keys without intervention, either by the use of a 'master' key, or an external supply of either key data or decoding data.

STICK

How do you go about doing this and what equipment do you need? Thanks.

Depends on a lot of things. Not very much at all is AU at the moment.

Only really TPS, and only then on a few receivers.

Give us a full run down on what gear you have, satellite and PC, which satellites you can receive etc. and we'll give you the bad news :D

Ok here goes:

Starlight MX receiver (Manhattan)
Dragon Cam
90 CM Triax with two LNB's 1 :-shh 13.0 and the other :-shh 19.0 (hotbird & Astra)
I Have a P4 Laptop with usb ports and Lan/Modem ports (not a RS232) and a P4 PC with plenty of USB ports, fire wire ports, lan/modem (RS232 and RJ11), both with Micro"sly" platforms. Is that enough info?

Yes...

... but no patch for TPS AU on your box AFAIK :(

Sorry. I did try and let you down gently :o

If anyone out there sniffs out an updater for the Starlight MX, be sure to let us know!

Doh, so what receivers are compatible with AU? Is it worth changing? I only really watched Prem Footy, and the better half used to watch all french. Would i be better purchasing an alternative for viewing these?

Personally, I wouldn't bother, as I think it's a shit fix.

It can be done on the Dreambox, PC cards and the Technomate 1xxx series amongst others. Easier and more reliable to buy an ART card IMHO, or maybe a TPS sub if you want to keep on the right side of the Mrs :-rofl2

Just purchased and Art card for £110.00. Over 12 months that works out at quite a good buy. i have been looking at TPS subscriptions but they are price mofo's, £ 275 for the basic package! Whats the chances of me getting a tps monthly subscription? My mrs has an address in france so if we bought an official subs. could we ask use the card here with our receiver? Come to think of it will we be able to put two vieing cards into the receiver at the same time?

Don't know about TPS monthly but I wouldn't think so.

Yes, you should be able to use your good ladies French address and then just use the card over here - no problem.

Two cards at the same time? Yes, if you have two card reader slots, it should work in theory.

Have you thought about just getting the free French channels for your wife to enjoy?

Quite a bit FTA in both digital and analogue on 5W if you'd care to chuck up another smallish dish or motorise your current one.

As most of the popular channels appear to be analogue, from what i under stand with the FTA Analogue signals, i would need to have a compatible television, am i correct? Would an analogue receiver do the trick? Would i need to check compatibilty of the reciever should i decide to go motorised?
