It depends a lot on you really. What is the best for one person may not be good for someone else. What do you want to watch? .How is your computer knowledge? .Are you happy updating the reciever yourself ?. And importantly, how much do you want to spend on a reciever ?
Think about these things before choosing a reciever.

I want the best ones others have already tested.
Most people can only give you an opinion on the receivers they have used and for most people it is probably only one or two. I can't even start to answer your questions, with perhaps the exception of "is there one which updates itself" and to my knowledge the answer is yes and no.
