looking for a pvr at the moment got freeview box and a tech 1000 patched reciever tps premier ect.connected to 80 cm motorised dish.now i would like all the free stuff on 28 degress and my not so free on hot bird and astra all in one reciever .been reading about lynx based recievers is this the only way to go as some of the posts i have read are not good.
 
No problem with most Linux based receivers, the Dreambox still being the front runner.

To be really effective a PVR needs 2 tuners, but this can be a waste of time on motorised systems, as very often the two programmes you need to watch and record simultaneously will be on different satellites.
 
i would be happy with a single tuner will the sky freesat card work in it .
 
see technomate 9100 lynx very cheap would u recomend this .also will sky card work on it.
 
Got one, wouldn't recommend it, get a Dreambox, not a poor imitation of one.
 
ok thanks i will read up as up to now i have had my blinkers on and the 9100 in front of me.
 
Well to be fair, some pople say that they are OK, just that I'm not one of them. :)
