What receiver is this?

^^^^
Yes, could be: I had a quick shufti on fleabay before I went out this morning, and the brand in question was notable by its absence.

Blimey, thanks for all the help, busy thread! I have been at work all day and only just got in, anyone have any idea why I am getting no sound on the HDMI?

I can live without the epg (its not the end of the world, we can use out old TVs freeview EPG).

Also, on the plus side, we both retire tomorrow!!!!

If memory serves me correctly there is a thread somewhere on the Passion HD receiver and its ability to show the full Freesat EPG.
God awful receiver..About the only thing it was useful for, Freesat!

Not $1.20, but $1-20

ie Price depends upon quantity.

Still dirt cheap, though.

If only it was a Freesat box :)

Swop the HDMI cable over , end to end.

There may also be a setting for digital audio out through the cable in the AV section of the menus.

Sorry, I should have said, the SD channels are all fine, no amount of faffing in the menus will get audio on the HD channels.Tried several HDMI cables including swapping end to end all with the same result. It is identifying the HD channels audio as AC3, could this be anything to do with it?

Well, back to square one then.

What other connections can you use for audio on the rear with your system, if only to check if there is a board fault ?

Do you have a hifi nearby with aux input ?

The receiver only has scart and hdmi out puts, there is no audio on either for HD and audio on both for SD. Think this is going back!

Can you temporarily connect the receiver to the TV with a scart lead to see if the audio is there?

See post 1

In the past I have found a full factory reset may cure the odd fault. There is also the option of a good thump which may be efficacious.

just deleted and rescanned 28E (fixed dish)very quick blind scan, 2 mins tops, but still the same fault on all hd channels, will give a factory rest a try next, going away to the borders soon, see you all Monday with the results! Cheers and thanks for all the help, all the best to you all!

The image in the first post confirms a 'coaxial' output. Is it present and can you connect it to something ?

I've owned the same receiver the OP mentions since April 2017. I've been trying to find a software upgrade for it without success, in fact it's hard to find any information about this receiver online, even though it's being widely sold.
It's branded as the "iView C-HD60", but there is no such firm as the "iView" in question, so there is no official website to refer to. Confusingly there is a firm called "iView", but they are not connected with this receiver. It's not exactly the same receiver which someone posted links to in this thread, apart from it not being the SCART model, that receiver has a different front panel and also has a CAM slot. It is undoubtedly made by the same firm though.
I was wondering if the OP was still using the same model and has tried and succeeded in finding a software upgrade for it. In an Amazon review someone claims the seller gave him a link to an upgrade, but he didn't post the link himself.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread.

^^ It will probably be a rebadged Chinese box. I would imagine the chances of finding an updated firmware are remote
