I'm finding this program very useful for an 'all in one' check of your WinXP processes (drivers, system info, IP connections etc) -

Looks an interesting program.

Their information on the common processes running was very informative as well. Svchost, ctfmon, alg and lsass are the 4 most common processes queried and from reading their explanation I strongly suspect that ctfmon is surplus to my requirements.

I'll have to build up my confidence to terminate it so that may be a few weeks away yet!
