Gloriously hot and sunny ...
What an experience after travelling by thumb down the M6 and crossing country on the M5 ..to spend 2 days living under a 'tarp in a hole in the ground with some guys from Belgium I met en route ..
..and wouldn't you know it ...on entering the site ..and parking my ass ...and rucksack ...I turned round to hear a freindly voice ...a guy I was at college with parked behind me ...out of many thousands of peeps ...
what are the odds ??
but he did share his chillout goodies with me ..(say no more)

this was the lineup ...
and the ticket cost me a weeks wages ..

Pink Floyd

Steve Miller Band

Captain Beefheart

Lots of covers bands in my teens, but in among them, Smokie just before they started having hits.

The Sutherland Brothers, (cringes slightly) Johnny Mathis, Steve Harley, Ray Davis.

Recently 'discovered' our local Cropredy festival, so in the last couple of years; Alice Cooper, 10cc, Nick Kershaw, Waterboys, Al Stewart, Wonder Stuff, Steve Hackett's Genesis Revisited. Should have seen Ozzie Floyd, but it was peeing down so (hangs head in shame) sodded off before the mud became dangerous.

Recently saw the Waterboys preview their latest album and going to see Al Stewart again next week.

I met a total stranger at the Charlton gig who shared his sandwiches with me,
I got propositioned to by a young girl while I was taking photo's of the Who with my 200mm lens she kept asking me do you want to stand where I am :) those were the days,
I had to leave just as Pete smashed up his guitar to catch the last train home the World never seemed the same the next day after a gig like that :D

Hmmmmm, I'm going to have to think about this.

Basically it's a game of two halves. The 1970s and 1980s, from which I can remember not a great deal unfortunately, and then from about ten years ago onwards when I started going out again. The first act I saw in 2005 which kicked it all off again was Paul McCartney on his Back in the World tour. I've kept most of the ticket from the last ten years so it shouldn't be too difficult. Time consuming, yes, but difficult, no.

Only two for me both in the 70's King Crimson in Manchester and Tammouz in Ashkelon, it then became obvious I had agoraphobia and I have never attended a live set since.

One thing that stands out for me here is the number of people attending concerts before I was even born!

What a wide and wonderful range of musical taste in this thread! Thankfully.

Right I have some tickets from the last ten years in front of me now. Up until four or five years ago I used to stick them onto the window of my room at work. Until, that is, the head teacher "suggested" that I might think that they were not suitable for window dressing. Anyway, in no particular order, here goes:

Can't find the 2005 tickets but Paul McCartney in 2008 with guests Kaiser Chiefs and the Zutons. Dave Grohl made a special appearance with Macca on some tracks.
Echo and the Bunnymen
Queen + Paul Rodgers (which I thought was superior to Queen + Adam Lambert that I saw this year)
Roger Waters on his Dark Side of the Moon tour. I've also seen his The Wall tour (twice)
OMD numerous times (and back in the 80s as well)
Blondie several times (and in the 80s as well)
Cliff Richard & The Shadows (mainly for tthe Shads for me but for Cliff for SWMBO)
Tom Jones (special treat for SWMBO - second row from the front as well!)
Julian Cope supported by Pete Burns. A dreadful night as Burns didn't appear until about 9:00 and Cope about 10:30
The Damned
Gary Neuman (also in the 80s when OMD were supporting him)
Level 42
Joe Brown
The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain (many times)
Focus
Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash
The Acoustic Strawbs
Brian Wilson
Rick Wakeman's Six Wives at Hampton Court Palace
Rick Wakeman's Jouney to the Centre of the Earth
John Cooper Clarke a couple of times (and back in the 80s)
The Zombies
Chris Farlow
The Who (Quadrophenia and Hits 50 tours)

Various tribute bands (Aus Pink Flyd, Brit Floyd, Nearly Dan, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, Talon, Whole lotta Led, Mothership) and touring shows such as Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds.

I'll have a look tonight through my recent tickets (at home) and then try to see what I can dredge from my memory for 30 - 40 years ago.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.
My Location
UK

I went there a couple of times - close by being a student at Plymouth (and living for a time in St Budeaux/Alma Road and then Trewan/St Austell).

As for bands/artists, I really would struggle with a full list, but those that spring to mind with rough dates,

Human League - London 1980
Beki Bondage and Marc Almond - West London pub, 1982 ?
Ivor Biggun / Doc Cox - The Bun Shop, Surbiton 1983 ?
Heaven 17 - Can't recall where but it was around 1983
Motorhead - Exeter 1984 ?
The Shamen - Hampton Court 1985
Killing Joke - Forum, N.London 1987 ?
Siouxie and the Banshees - Farewell concert, Hammersmith 2002 ?
There was also an excellent open air concert - Crystal Palace - in the mid 80's which featured Hawkwind among others.

Vera Lynn
Hawkwind.
Spear Of Destiny .
Armory Show
The Enid
Dr and the Medics
The March Violets
Comsat Angels
Balaam and The Angel
Eddy Armani

And some I just recall but would prefer to put behind me.
Madonna/Black Box - Wembley late 80's
Gary Glitter - Hammersmith mid 80's
Whitesnake - Wembley Arena 88/89 ?
