No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

The samsung has a higher resolution, so I'd go for that, depends on your wallet though... :p

Having clicked between the two on offer (nearly had a fit) - I would go for the Samsung.

Apart from Samsung being my new SONY (sic) - I reckon their kit is well built and usually has more bangs for your buck (in terms of features).

Did Kodak ever make a camera that you didn't have to dispose of?

Have a look around for a better optical zoom, digital zoom is worth nothing. Don't be too sucked in by the amount of Megapixels either, a camera with a good lens and optical zoom will outperform a camera with lesser lens and twice the number of megapixels.

My Fuji finepix, is only 3.5 megapixels and easily outperforms these type of cameras, because of the better lens and 10 times optical zoom, you can now buy one for the same sort of money you mention above, but with an addon teleconverter.:)

Just looked and there are Fuji S7000 6 megapixel cameras on Ebay for the same money and these are a proper camera. :)

If looking for a compact, then also look at 7dayshop.com
I have bought a lot of bits and pieces from them at very good prices. :)

Have to agree with rolfw, I have a Kyocera finecam 400R, its only 4mp but it has 10x optical zoom. Once you go into digital zoom quality really suffers.

It takes really good quality pics.

Well, if you want to open the field - we could be here for days discussing lenses vs megapix - optical vs digital, but [...]

... that wasn't the Q ;-) Rd gave us two to chose from.

I could quite happily talk about Nikon D-SLR lenses at 600 quid a pop if you want me too.:toke:

There is a big difference between opening the field horizontally and opening it vertically Mark. ;)
