Most USB programmers still need the serial(comm) port connection for phoenix and smartmouse modes. You'll have to ensure that any USB only programmer can emulate a comm port otherwise third part applications will not be compatible with it.

Hi Milkybarkid,
I think there is an Adteknik model that can program in Phoenix mode, using just a USB connection, I'll try to find out more.
Best wishes

I believe that's the one.

At the moment I use an Infinity Phoenix which has USB and serial cable for Phoenix mode.

Hi Milkybarkid,
A qoute from a very experienced satellite user and an owner of this programmer:

"usb only , including phoenix mode
its the yellow one , the adteknik 3.6 usb multiprogrammer"

I found this site you can take a look at:
_http://www.adteknik.se/english/products.htm

Best wishes
Mickha

Thanks for info.

I saw that progger advertised as an Elvis Multiprog USB for £49. Mabye it's got a few different names.
