I have the chance of buying one of these receivers

Humax 5300 via

Hyundai hss 1000ir (patched) allcam

Echostar 3000 ip via

Could anyone recommend or condemn any of these?

They're all good and have their followings, I would almost be inclined to hang out for a Dream Box, or at least wait until they hit the streets and we get some proper user reports.

There is of course the CarlosFandango 21000IRVACOSENACi DVB PVR to consider, but it is as yet relatively unknown :)

Here are a couple of links about the dreambox Howard, don't know price yet, but bear in mind that as it has almost everything already, you probably won't need to buy any accessories.

The CarlosFandango is a figment of the Fosters fuelled imagination ;)

I have heard reports that a couple of guys in germany did recieve the DreamBox 7000 yesterday, they all paid the price of 499 euro and I think it was delivered without a harddrive.

Strangely enough Leonard, the hard drive doesn't particularly interest me, I can't think of many things that I'd like to record. The ethernet port for my network is much more interesting, no need for the integral hard drive then. :) If you get links to any real user reports, please post them.
