Which recvr is most impervious to attacks ?
What receiver should I buy ? - Which is the safest bet ? - The easiest to cure ? - The one the hobbyists find the most maliable ? - The one with the widest array of patches ? - THE ONE THAT POSES THE LEAST PROBLEMS ?

And to receive the mostest - should I go patched embedded card reader PLUS patched CAM or just the CAM - and which CAM and which embedded encryptn systm ?

Or should I wait until you hacker-hobbyist-geniuses crack the new second generation encryption systems ?

Cost IS an issue

For anyone on a budget looking for the most flexibility with respect to encryption systems, and without specialist knowledge of the technologies, my recommendation is the Humax5400(z) with the emebedded Irdetro CAM patched. Then you need no additional CAMs at all for Viaccess, Mediaguard, Irdeto/Betacrypt and Nagravision.

search on "5400z" on this board and you'll get the full story.
Humax themselves don't describe it as a different model presumably it doesn't contain any extra functionality for the normal end-user - it's just a slight revision to supposedly make it impossible to patch).
