Hello, I apologise if this has cropped up before but I cannot find any information relevant. We are going to Tours later this year with our caravan and want to watch BBC South East, ITV Meridian South etc. Please can someone tell me which sattelite I should be looking for. I have an 80cm dish.Thanking you for any help, Rob.

Hello, welcome to the forum, well it all depends on where are you going to tour exactly as the channels have a footprint focussed on the UK so out of the footprint you may not be able to receive you local channels, but 28.2/5 is the location required

Thank you for your welcome. Tours is near Le Mans in France. We will be based there for two weeks, thanks for your help.

Tours NW France? You wont have any problems getting those channels there.

Yes, the satellite (although it's really a cluster of satellites) will be known as Astra 2 or Astra 28. It might also mention a satellite called Eurobird or Eutelsat 28 (the new name) which is effectively in the same position.

Also, 80cm will be plenty big enough for all the channels in the Tours region.

Yep, I've used a minidish to the East of Chartres and a 60cm gives stable reception all year round.
