Yes, all of them used, and I removed them from old stuff. I think those brown ones came from my 42' plasma which I decommissioned ~ month ago.

Have a look at eBay: 171927184554
Amazing for the money. Unless you have something like this already or better?

It works very well and is handy, I use mine a lot for identifying parts that have no writing and I forgot what they were.
If you check ESR in circuit just discharge the cap first as these cant cope with a charged capacitor.

There is a big thread on EEVblog about them and this one is the best design out of all the cheap ESR/LCR from China. I flashed mine with newer firmware but it is not really needed I just like messing with things.

Capacitors? Pah, it was condensers in my day :D

BTW, recycling is all the rage these days: years ago, we used to reform stored or aged electrolytics (the big ones in power amps and radios) br passing a current at the cap's rated voltage through a high value resistance for a few hours until the cap's working voltage had been achieved - if it didn't burst before it had reformed o_O

This is very important even now, a lot of people try powering things up that have not been used for a long time, especially "Vintage" products or New old stock. Ideally a VARIAC should be used to bring everything up slowly to reform the caps and lessen the damage if something is short circuit.

The last "Condenser" I used was fitted to a Triumph Herold 1360!

Thems the things on the back of fridges that condense the gas back into liquid aren't they? :-rofl2
