Hi Everyone!!

I have recently relocated to Italy and have brought my HD box and new activated card with me. I gave it to a friend to test on their dish but they said it doesn't work?? They were using a old box to view sky but their old card no longer works, so i gave them my box to use.... My friend said it don't work...I am now wondering if my box didnt like the flight over here!! I haven't been over to see the message, but they say it has a good signal strength, but still doesn' work.

i'm trying to understand if my box will work and if it needs altering in any option menu's first. If it can work, i need to know what dish size and LNB you recommend. My Italian GF has Sky Italy, but it points at a different satellite, so i was thinking about a motorized dish so we can use both boxes when required.

Any help given would be gratefully appreciated. i miss my English TV !!

My Satellite Setup
No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...
My Location
Near Pontop Pike, Co. Durham
Italy is a bit on the fringe of Astra2 transmissions, and there was a reshuffle of frequencies to keep british stuff aimed at the UK on A2D, so, it could be a case of it being out of range unfortunately... :(

There is a way to get the box to lock onto a sky-related transponder so it starts working, but you will not get the full channel list, you can see the footprints here:

Astra 2D: http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/satellite-footprint-library/110370-astra-2d-28-2e.html
Astra 2A & 2B: http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/satellite-footprint-library/110368-astra-2a-2b-28-2e.html

Have a look here on how to set the default transponder to the alternative:

Hope this helps... :)
