copied from my post in another large forum ...
I have recently built a Windows 7 x64 box which i have setup to run Media Centre in the lounge, (long time MCE2005 user) but this time instead of using local analogue tuner i have put a DVB-S tuner to get signal from my dish point at Astra2x/Eurobird1 etx. During the setup of MCE you enter a country and postcode relating to your area, and also which TV service you are receiving. It then matches channel in the list to the regional guide, (i think how it works) - i set myself a UK address and this aspect works fine.
However I live on a extreme fringe of the signal so many of the hundreds of channels MCE has 'found' simply aren't available here.
I have a list of the transponders from which we get signal (thanks to Satfinder tool) so i would like to remove (not untick) all channels from MCE channel list that we simply cannot receive. From what is left i can swap in/out channels in the guide.
Idea is if we can't get ITV1 London, i`ll choose ITV Central, or if BBC1 London is of poor quality i can change to BBC South East.
Whilst editing sources can be done through the MCE interface with the remote it takes a while, is there a file on them machine which i can open and edit directly ?
