Windows 10 - Nuff Said

Il stick with my Netscape Navigator :D
I'm kidding but you can actually still download this..

Wasn't Firefox born out of that?

yes it was, well kinda, the "Mozilla community" was kicking about WAY back in the day, and THAT was a netscape innovation so in a way yes.

I thought Microshaft had been compelled to offer a range of Browsi with their Windows builds. Did that go by the wayside, or did they wriggle their way out of it?

yes that's right, they do but they preinstall that Edge crap too.. Now with added Crappy Cortana and even more crappy Bing !
i wish they would just get the message ..No one wants it ! :-lol

I've often heard this:

"Internet explorer is the best browser in the world, to download a better browser"

It's true... :)

At least the Anniversary Update gave Edge what it surely should have had since the get-go:Add-on Support.

Like Chris above, I'm a diehard Firefox and Thunderbird fan, so these were the first Progs I installed on Win 10.
I just switched to Thunderbird a couple of days ago. I figured it was about time I gave up on using Eudora since the version I was using hadn't been officially supported for 10 years...

is that Timo the famous radio ham ? ;)

no call for opera yet, fastest out of the big names on win10

Everybody - to download Chrome or Firefox, then they close it & forget about it :D

Yes, must say running Firefox since 2003 and see no reason to change...very content, no problems.......might try Chome or another one day.

Happy with Windows 10 but that mountain of pre-loaded sh** to dump or configure, wow!

I have Just received an email..

Hello, Windows Insider!

Firstly, we'd like to let you know that we've just released another Windows 10 Insider Preview build for PC. You can also find out about the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview build for Mobile. As usual, you've got multiple ways to submit your feedback and hear what other Insiders are saying, including the Feedback Hub (now a new app in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update) and our Insider forum.

.Well, lets hope it better than the last one LOL
the last "PC build" did little more than dumb down the touch screen abilities !
Rob :)

I also hate certain sneaky aspects of windows 10 for example, i hate having to to login with my Live account if i want to use the "Apps" ( what was wrong with calling them programs ?) from the windows store,
its Much more though, it actually changes your domain account so you have to Logon to windows when you boot up with your live/ Hotmail account !

and you have the right run around if you want to permanently disable windows defender and its non stop alerts ..

these "features" amongst many other do NOT benefit the user in Any way.. its all about tracking your uses and get the Microsoft advertising machine in control.

"Programs" is as bad as "Apps" ........ I prefer "Programmes" ;)

It was decades ago that there was agreement that in British English programme would continue to be used for all the traditional things (TV programmes, fitness programmes, etc) and program would be used solely for use in computing. It's a useful distinction, much on the lines of metre (as used for length measurement) and meter (dials or whatever measuring the flow or intensity of something).

Now using program for TV shows and meter for length is a different matter. Don't get me started on that!

"British English" ... I feel a rant in the Gripes Thread coming on!

But I'm packing the Car ready to set off on our Hol, so it can wait.

Check back in soon!

Apps - the reason for that one is simpl. MS know folk have become accustomed to buying apps for phones over the last few years. Therefore changing Programmes to Apps is an easy route to increase the income from software.
