hi, new in here, that would be my first post so bare with me please, my 500s on the way, i have a wireless network at home(but wont be able to connect my 500s to modem by nic) to do the card share, so i was wondering if it is possible to connect 500s with internat through wireless? and i dont wanna connect it with my laptop or cpu and let it on always.

here is a list what i have to choose whats my best option:

1. 500s
2. wireless internate
3. old cpu with monitor(400 GHZ/AMD, PENTIUM 3 MAYBE WITH 98)
4. LAPTOP
5. A extra wireless router(dlink)


any suggestion???

DSL with a wireless router??????

If you cant run a patch cable from the Dreambox to the Dlink Router you will need to buy a wireless bridge/Access point.

Something like this,

Personally, I prefer a wired connection to the router. Wifi drops every now and then with the cr@py ZyXEL I have at the minute.

When you say modem do you ADSL router modem?

Your two options are:

1. use an Ethernet Bridge (search will find you some old posts).
2. Connect the Dreambox to your wireless router with an Ethernet CAT5 cable.

thats sucks ...........would it be a big problem to do the card sharing?

ya it is a adsl router,, i am sharing my internat with my friends next door.. so i cant connect to the router, but i have a extra dsl router laying around.

Your options are an Ethernet Bridge if you don't have physical access to the router or you might be able to setup up a wireless laptop for ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) and connect the Dreambox to the laptop with a crossover cable.
