80cm motorised dish with Icecrypt 1.2

I have a SL65 which is motorised now for the last few weeks it will not moved west. I have been able to move the dish manually and checked all the cables and everything seems fine.

Have removed all the dish settings and unpluged the box and have now tried to set the box up for all the locations but again it will not move west.

So i'm thinking its a box issue rather than a motor issue?

What about you lot?

Oh I havent done a factory reset yet as I didnt think this would bring anything new to the table.

Check software limits, resetting the motor also may clear the fault.

No idea about softwear limits but has been fine for a year. Have tried hitting the reset button on the motor if I have hit it seems a strange one. But appears to do nothing.

What Motor is it exactly?

eg Motecks require a pin (unbent paper clip is ideal) poking through a small hole on the underside of the casing.

As for "it's been fine for a year" ................. all things that no longer work properly used to work!

It is not that difficult to inadvertently apply a software limit ..... you can clear these very easlyl by delving into the Recevier's Motor Control menus.

WARNING: Before resetting the motor, make sure it's roughly at zero, as the act of resetting will cause it to move to zero and it can take you by surprise.

Icecrypt 1.2 is the motor I have.

Will have a look at software limits if I can work that out. I'm thinking it must be the box?

Faulty box would come a distant third behind finger trouble (software limit) or motor issue.

Do, however, check that the F connectors are firmly screwed on at the motor end (well, both ends, really) as a dodgy contact can cause problems as I've discovered with one of my Moteck clones.

You may find 1.2 is the DiSEqC system used by the motor rather than the model number. The most common one is the DM101, which is a badged Moteck SG2100a (which is a badged something else of something else)

Ah, so if it really is a Moteck clone, reset is via pinhole on it's bottom, as surmised earlier.
