Yep ...Sounds good to me ..
Pert Paula ..
Has a certain ring to it ;)

I believe its called personification...and sadly I am guilty of it.
But then my eye only sees only a thing of beauty ...as I do generally when observing the female form.

....In my sad opinion all prime focus dishes should certainly be female ..
For example ..
I go week at the knees when I catch a glimpse of the lovell telescope at jodrell bank ..
No disrespect to the great man ...who certainly desrves the accolade ..but I prefer to call her Stella ...
for obvious reasons..

...and don't get me started on Alicibo...
;)

Cheers.

This material will stop the mount moving around the pole then ?

I'm thinking to buy some to add to the inside of the 1224 mount to keep it tight around the pole.

In the recent winds my dish has moved a little and maybe this would stop it.

Yep its worth a shot at that price, originally the mount came with something very similar. But mostly its for first time fitting.

Is the mount larger than 3 inch and the anti slip material fills the gap once the bolts are tight?

Great job ,its like brand new.

I bought a second hand 1.2 channel master with the cm polar mount a few weeks ago.
I sanded it and used a wire brush before giving it several coats of hammerite spray paint, it turned out great , it was rough enough before that.

I could only get zinc bolts, would these be ok, i did'nt put it back together yet.

Thanks, I think zinc bolts would be fine.

Anyone have any idea what to do with the adjustment bolt and clip for the declination adjuster, nickel plating is coming up with home kits that are way to expensive for two items.

2 jpsr: I think it is easy now to get all nuts and bolts made of INOX at _http://inox.ie/
2 remlap: If I where you I would order declination adjustment bolt specially made in some workshop, INOX of course. That would probably coast about 10 EUR.
I think that such a nice antenna as CM is, needs some shiny nuts and bolts

could you use spray nickel or zinc? rust-oleum do various types, applied cold if put on in thin coats should look ok and from the write ups seem to offer good protection from corrosion.

fwiw ..
You might consider stainless steel nuts n bolts ..
Many available sizes on ebay ..
You'd probably have to source them individually according to size an length ...and they can be a bit expensive.
but ..Paula deserves the best you can get ;)
I've managed to replace all but the largest on Christina ..but then ..those are Imperial with no metric substitutes.

This is exactly what my dad suggested to me last night, some cold galvanising spray might just work well.

I like this material (INOX) very much, and try to use it everywhere. I also have friend who is professional in welding and all the metal works. We have several shops which sell INOX nuts and bolts and price is very much different if you take 1, 10 or 100 pieces of something, so, at the end of the day there is no great difference between galvanised and INOX, but final performance is much better.

Still looking for a source for the adjustment eye bolt, I've seen very similar ones made for snow blowers in the States but no idea if they're UNC or not.

If you measure diameter and length of that bolt and diameter of eye, I could ask my friend to calculate total price. Is that eye bolt you are speaking about (circled red)?

Bought some Cold Galvanising Spray Paint and sprayed it on the adjustment bolt waited for it to dry, stuck on the label then sprayed it with a coat of clear lacquer.

Also I've sprayed a coat of lacquer on both labels on the mount itself, applied lacquer not just on the sticker itself but gave a border around the label to try and stop the water getting in.
