X-CAM loading problems

Hiya,

I managed to programme my X-CAM recently, so I thought I'd help a friend out as well.

I got his X-CAM, and it has 1.06 on it. I connected everything up, but my loader programme says "Downloading file, please wait" when I click the Serial Update in the menu.

But I look on my PC screen again and it's not actually downloading. The blue bar is still on 0%, and quite often my X-CAM seems to restart (it goes to 'No CI module' for a while, then back to 'XCAM 1.06' in my receiver menu).

Any ideas?

I have a Matrix Reloaded cam so don't really know anything about the X-CAM but with the MR there are sometimes problems initialising the CAM and you have to put the cam into a satellite receiver whilst it is set to a FTA channel (I use TV5, ARTE on Hotbird on 13E) To do that I go to FTA channel and then switch receiver off, put in the CAM switch on receiver (it is on FTA channel) then switch off receiver and take out CAM. Now you could try programming the cam.
