X-cam programming

My Satellite Setup
XTrend ET8000, Dr HD 15, PC/twinhan combination. 80cm dish. GBPVR with 2 DTTV cards +hauppauge Media MVP +Raspberry Pi running XBMC
My Location
Midlands UK
Have I got this right? If I have an X-cam and a cas2 then I need to have PC and receiver next to each other to reprogram?

No, the CAS2 should program the XCAM without the receiver.
 
Thanks Rolf; but at the risk of appearing obtuse, how do you do it? The cas2 manual and ucassupport both say "cam in receiver" .
