Xcam dead? What now?

Hi Guys,

Now`the Xcam is dead and not many updates are available, I need to know what card to buy next in time for the Football to start. The criteria I am after is:

1. Easy to update - via laptop pcmia slot if possible
2. Regular updates for now and the future
3. cost - as cheap as possible
4. Compatible with Humax c5100

Any help would be great!

well many people recommend the dragon cam

for football i'd suggest an art sports card for hotbird 13east
 
At the moment i wouldn't recommend buying anything. The Xcam hasn't had any recent updates but there is nothing to update - apart from keys.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i'm sure that the Xcam opens all that the Dragon does and more if you include BISS encryption.

Check that you are running the latest version of Xcrypt ie. the unofficial Angel version 1.51 or Orion 2.40

Are you saying that the dragon can open T*s, multibision, c*bo, D+, Spice etc??? Or is it that I have not got the latest firmware and keys to open these with my XCAM? Or are these channels closed for everyone?
 
D+&Cabo are closed for all at the moment. TPS, multi and Spice can be lumped together, as TPS are changing AES every 20-30 mins, so you can get them but it's been made deliberately inconvenient.

I think you may have misunderstood me - at the moment the Xcam actually opens more than the Dragon.

None of the major packages are publically open except for TPS but as Lancelot says it would be unlikely to satisfy your needs as you would have to update the AES key every 20mins or so.

The only major package at the moment that is receivable without card-sharing is Premiere but the holders of that hack only supply others if they will pay a substantial amount of money.

I get more confused with every post I read! I have an Art card coming so I need a cam to load it in my TM1500 (I already have a Cerebro card in my slot). Should I just buy the cheapest cam to use my Art card?
 
My art card works fine in a dragon cam but dragon/t-rex cams cost about £75
