I'm amazed at how this frequency is possible in Romania with 90cm while it's one of the very few I cannot lock at all with 1.30m further south!
BTW 12169H has now appeared with great signal (for my location) while it was absolutely absent before. Maybe it switched beam?

Attached below is today's spectrum/blind scan result from 52.5 East plus a couple of channel screen grabs from frequencies that I locked.. According to Flysat and Lyngsat there are two beams currently broadcasting, the East beam and the MENA beam. I managed to lock two of the four frequencies from the MENA beam and could "see" the other two frequencies but they were below the level for a lock.

The 11977H frequency on the MENA beam was well above the threshold for a lock so nowt special about that one. The 12054H frequency on the MENA beam was a few tenths of a dB above the level required for a lock, enough to provide stable pictures.

As expected, I got absolutely nowt from the East beam.

What is the 3rd beam that is used in Ku-Band for 52.5 East and what frequencies are on it?

I could only find the East and MENA beams listed on Flysat and Lyngsat for Ku-Band, unless some of the frequencies listed for East/MENA are on another beam?

There used to be a European Beam on one transponder. That has been switched off for some while now.

Yup - it was 11843V - now switched onto the East beam. Huge signals when its active - ISTR Saudi Sports appeared on the Euro beam for a while a few years ago, and I logged it with a horribly misaligned lnb.

I remember the European beam well good reception here with an 70cm dish.
The East beam looks impossible in the UK even with a 500cm dish as the link below shows
The MENA beam is only possible here with a dish of 150cm to 240cm,
Only data currently on the C band good reception with a 125cm dish.

I think a 2.2m dish in the southern UK might just about get a lock on all 4 MENA beam frequencies?

I locked two of them with a 2.0m dish and was around 1.2 to 1.7 dB respectively under a lock for the other two. A 2.4m dish would definitely lock all of them but a 2.2m might also be up to the job.

Maps are not very accurate. East beam is fine here 2.4m (almost same distance away) I watched F1 race from MBC persia last weekend.
Mena is weak here, locked 12054H few times when it was dvb-s qpsk 5/6

The satbeams site only lists frequencies for the East beam and the MENA beam for 52.5E. There are no frequencies listed on any other beams for 52.5E.

My last post was from "Dec 30, 2017" ... after more than two years since the last reception ... now I have tested again Yahsat 1a ... 52.5e (spot MENA) ... the results being the following:
