Since I only have a few friends, and we don't give presents, then I think this year's festive financial burden will be very low.:D

I might treat MYSELF to a new telly, or get a new motorised system.:D

I have no wife, no girlfriend, and no kids to bleed me dry, either. :D

Call me Scrooge.

We have a maximum budget of £100 for gifts for others and £50 for extra food/drink goodies for ourselves. That's it. Enjoyment without "conspicuous" consumption and a happy balance between not actually being Christians anyway, yet paying respect and not assuming humbug mode.

"But at least I have a wife" (qv "Airplane" {Sort of})

Christmas?? Bah humbug :D

Give me a few beers in the evening and Im perfectly happy :D

Also not being christians hence not celebrating Christmas no extra expenditure....... as much as SWMBO would like to go to visit family abroad, as has been the norm for a few years, a dash of winter sun, there is no disposable income this year to spend on travel.

Taking time off work to spend a few days at home is probably the most expensive Christmas gift a self-employed person can give their family.

Bet that goes down a storm with the kids.

Christmas Day morning. The children, eyes bright with excitement grasp their stocking which they placed at the foot of the bed together with a mince pie for Santa.

The mince pie is gone with just a beer stain left in its place - so he must have been!

Out tumble a few satsumas and an IOU promising a new aerial when they're old enough.

I have it on good authority that Santa Comes but once a year ...
...and when he does he fills your sock ..

No way I'm standing for that sort of nonsense ....so I bricked up my chimneys..

This Chrismas I'm splashing out on a new candle to warm my hands on ....as now I've bricked up my fireplaces ...so there's nowhere to burn those unpaid bills..

Bah Humbug ....

Daddy ...Daddy ...Tiny Tim's fallen into the fire ....

Well..don't poke him ...he might last all night

;)

Not as good, or as clever as telling them the ice cream van only makes musical sounds when it has run out of lollies. Humping

Well I'm going for the conspicuous consumption option. :-rofl2
