Tourist authorities in Beijing have begun using facial recognition technology to combat the theft of lavatory paper from public bathrooms.

At the Chinese capital's 600 year old Temple of Heaven, - a World Heritage site - new technology has been introduced that dispenses a two-foot section of paper every nine minutes in response to a facial scan.
