ZBOX replacement ?

I have beenusing a ZBOX DSR 1000 receiver for many years for Astra and Hotbird.

I'm starting to have some difficulty with it so I am looking to replace it. Myquestions are:


Are Astra and Hotbird still the best choices in central Europe for "freeto air" broadcasts or should I be looking at other satellites?

Is anyone aware of a suitable, moderately priced receiver with HDMI output thatis readily available in Croatia?

Do either Astra or Hotbird have free HD channels and if so what do I need tolook for in a receiver to receive these?

13/19E probably still have the biggest choice of fta stations in European skies. You might want to think about adding in 16E 23.5E or 28E to give you a few more channels

Cant really help you with HDMI stuff - Im still quite happy with having all my tv delivered via rf!

Well, the first thing that occurs is that you mention Astra - but not which one: Astra 2 @28E, Astra 1 @ 19E, Astra 3 at 23.5E or Astra 4 @ 4.8E.

Could you perhaps be a little more specific?
 
The two satellites I am set up for are

Hotbird at 13E and
Astra at 19E

I also noticed that on Astra 19E my Zbox lists what appear to be several unscrambled HD channels. Is that correct and if I got a newer box would I be able to see those channels, unscrambled ?
