OK and thanks, that "sort-of" clears up the current situation! Thus, tomorrow (hopefully!), I will start a suitable thread.
Been too busy (and with some unexpected new issues!), so aim to start that tomorrow.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Today I have been mostly watching two sealed lead acid batteries charge that haven't been charged in about 3 years, have been left in the shed through summers and winters, but still seem to hold 12v miraculously...

Amazing life I lead, I know... :-rofl2

I fancied something with a bit more excitement, like watching my multimeter's volt reading going up steadily...

Turns out my battery charger stopped working through the night, spent the past half an hour probing about inside it with my multimeter, only to discover that it was a broken wire at the mains plug................ :-doh

Not done any sat stuff today - had my first appointment at the hospital Physio Backpain clinic

The L3 disk in my spine got, VERY painfully, displaced decades ago when I tried to lift my Mini to get a jack under it to access & repair the steering rack and that's had multiple repercussions ever since! Now there are the added complications from 2 arthritic knees (one feels pretty bad at times:rolleyes:), meaning I need a walking stick for any walking over about 20m and/or standing for more than a few seconds.

After I explained that to the physio, she has arranged a 1-1 review with someone else in a few weeks because a "normal" exercise programme is probably not for me - hopefully we can then arrive at some programme which will address the combined issues from the back and the knees:unsure.

Also sorted out the problem that Windows 7 on one of the PC's wouldn't Update - it's actually quite a simple fix, not that any of the Microsoft solutions seem to work, but one website came up trumps with the (relatively!) easy/quick answer!:)

The fix for Windows 7 not updating is to download and install two patches. After these two patches are installed Windows 7 will update.

Windows6.1-KB3020369-x64.msu
Windows6.1-KB3172605-x64.msu

Actually, you don't even have to do that - see here!
I used Method 2 = Just find and delete or rename the folder "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution", followed the other instructions there, and then W7 Update worked fine for 22 Important and 3 Optional Updates (and including a couple of reboots)

True - but "Method" /"Solution" 2 is very quick and easy (if I can do it quickly and easily, then anyone can :)) and doesn't involve downloading anything, using Command Line functions or using the Run as Administrator approach, and the thread claims that at least 1 of the 4 methods will work on Vista, W7 and/or W8

Anyway, back to "more serious" stuff! :-rofl2

Had to take SWMBO for another med appointment this afternoon, did some shopping, and then tried to start re-erecting another dish or two - and then could I then find the hex drive adapters that I bought a month ago for the very purpose of driving long hex-headed bolts in with the electric drill? Could I, B***er it! - seached the garage (where I know I put them in a "safe and acessible" spot!) almost from top to bottom and yet no sign of them :confused, so now got a somewhat aching arm from just puting two of the brackets back on the fence posts!

I'm having difficulty keeping myself awake today, so decided to mow the grass earlier, I can certainly say being pulled about by a mower while half asleep is quite fun.......not... :-wow

My problem with mowing is my back and the disc I slipped decades ago when lifting my Mini (not the same one I had at Uni, but a Traveller that was heavier because it had an 1100cc engine in the front and 1/4" thick steel sumpguard under that!) - doesn't like the slight bending I have do whilst pushing the electric mower:rolleyes:

My back isn't great (likes to slip one of the lower discs now and then doing normal every day things because my spine hates me), but thankfully I don't have much issue with using my mower, being a self-propelled petrol one, it can just merrily roll itself along, but the majority of the time I just push it manually, helps to work up a sweat and burn off some flab...

Now if it had steerable wheels, I could turn it into an R/C mower, but that's just being lazy... :-lmao
