I am not expert but when I changed my lnb on sky dish From technomate to inverto black ultra signal remains the same as its powerful satellite but I notice the picture quality gone very sharp.

Picture quality has nothing to do with LNB. I mean, if you have acceptable signal level, the quality of the picture will be the same.
yes, quality is down to how the receiver renders the image. my zgemma looks slightly blurred compared to my octagon sx88 - signal strength always roughly the same in DB (decibels) on both. im actually thinking about ditching the zgemma H7s - i only bought it for the 3 tuners, now theres not much need for a dvb-c cable tuner. it doesnt remove channels when you run a channel scan, very irritating.

Hello! Has anyone made a comparison test between high gain lnbs IBU quad , Maclean MCTV-671 LNB quad, Golden Media 204+ with same satellite equipment?

I did some tests with Golden Media 204+ , IBU PLL and Maclean Mctv-671 all quad lnbs. Golden Media had the best results on feeds and weak transponders so far. I managed to lock signal and get picture that i could not with the others e.g. 10930 V 27500 on Es'Hail-2 MENA 25.5E and 11054 H 27500 on Eutelsat 8W. So for now i have this lnb on my dish.

Almost forgot to link to the other thread.

Within that one is reference to the Smart LNB (Titanium), of which I have a Quattro LNBF version from years back that worked somewhat better than others on receiving weaker channels. I've still got it here and will be running an additional four individual cables into the shack at the end of the week to see if it still performs.

Check the serial number.

Does anyone have any idea where this inverto C/Ku lnb could be available?
I know these combos are Ku band killers, but maybe inverto found a way to make the best of both worlds? Has anyone tried it by any chance?

No, these ones are proven to work badly, the question is since this is Inverto, maybe it's better....

hello,
I have made some comparison between IBU single and a chinese one I have heard about on the internet
X2 Twin 0,1db (not single that it's worse) and it surprising me.
It performs at least the same as IBU, sometimes slightly better.
I have tried almost every INVERTO and OCTAGON newer models also PLL versions.
it's the first time I've found something that sometimes performs better (also if slightly) than IBU single.

best regards

The thing is though that most test on these chinese combos have proven really poor for Ku Band. But since it's the first time Inverto officially puts out a combo under their name, maybe it is better than the known chinese ones.
So, the question is not whether any other inverto LNB is better or not but if anyone has managed to find where this particular inverto combo is available and if anyone tried it.

Hi DRO lnb's are normally the cheaper end lnb's, the local oscillator being a Dielectric Resonator Oscillator , it's not as stable on the oscillator as the PLL (Phase Locked Loop)but for most run of the mill KU band or C band downlinks they work fine, the PLL comes into it's own when single channel per carrier is downlinked(SCC) sometimes on weaker SCC signals the only way to get a L band output for your receiver is with a PLL lnb

Has anyone really tried the original black ultra against the pll type on the weak signals? Review on this appears limited.

I think @william-1 may have compared these LNBF's?
Yes I have for feeds the Black Ultra is best especially for weak signals,
For DTH broadcasts the pll was better as it did not overload on very strong transponders unlike the IBU.
