Note: You need to edit the "remote.cfg" file to ENABLE remote functionality. It is switched off on purpose!

The easiest way to do it is to go to C:\Program Files\VMA Video Analyser and copy "remote.cfg" to the Desktop. Open in text editor and set:

# Remote enabled (True/False)

Enabled = True

Also, chose your pin! This is the pin you need to enter to access the remote screen.

This tool can be minimized to the tray and listen for requests.

From any remote computer, tablet or smartphone, it is now possible to launch VMA Stream Reader, VMA Transport Stream Analyser, VMA Mosaic or VMA Video Analyser.

The apps are monitored and can not just started remotely, but closed as well.

This allows for true remote monitoring in professional environments or, in case of DX fans, to handle the antenna while keeping an eye on the results.

For this to work, it is mandatory to edit the "remote.cfg" file contained in the programs folder, which is write protected by Windows! You need to either edit as Admin (Notepad++ will handle this automatically) or, easier, copy the file to the Desktop, edit and copy back to the programs folder (Windows will ask for permissions).

The default setting of "remote.cfg" is to have remote access disabled.

Press F9 to start recording and again F9 to stop recording: you will be prompted to save the recorded macro:

This works for VMA Stream Reader, VMA Transport Stream Analyser, VMA Mosaic and VMA Video Analyser.

It should make it much easier to create simple linear macros that just replay a sequence of commands.

Of course you can then edit such a macro and add extra commands, conditions, waits, etc.

Again, I cannot fully grasp all potential of this new macro language implementation.

Also, the macro language implementation is actually just a show case for the underlying OLE/API. It is actually possible to interact with VMA Video Analyser via OLE/API from other software.

There are certainly many bugs and oddities, but only with use will they show, so I can correct them.

Attached is a first draft of the manual.

You don't have to pay because you qualify for a free license.

@all: if you are a forum member for longer than 6 month with more than 50 posts, you qualify for a free license. But you need to mention your username and forum name, otherwise I cannot tell who you are.
 
To try, start VMA Stream Reader, connect tuner, select desired satellite.

Press F2 and select Channel Scan.macro from folder C:\Program Files\VMA Video Analyser\Sample Macros.

Do not cover the VMA Mosaic window, otherwise the screenshots will show whatever is covering the panels!

The process (spectrum, Auto Scan, producing the HTML page with screenshots) might take between 5-20 minutes, depending on the amount of found transponders, tuner used, etc.

You can set the Auto Scan preferences, along with any other Settings BEFORE starting the macro.

Feel adventurous: expand the macro with your preferences!
 
I might be missing something here, apologies if so! I'm trying out VMA Stream Reader with my new TBS5930 Lite. It seems to work well. I can lock MIS/PLS transmissions - but for some reason I only see one MIS stream available in the dropdown at a time -

This Rai transponder on 5°W should have stream 1, 3, 5 and 11 - if I blindscan again I sometimes get one of the others, but only ever one at a time. I'm trying to tune to stream 11 for the DAB+.

Hi, the RAI Tp has streams 1-3-5-11-12. The new stream was added a few weeks ago and for the moment carries Rai DAB as stream 11.
