Steve, just in case you miss the PM, what reception are you seeing on your 150 dish for 2F at the moment??my.... current / old satellite forum site ....was run and updated.... by my friend and very missed "Rob".........that's all i was asking.......
I didn't see any 'PM'......but not to worry ..........daytime Signal Q is down about 20-30% Q (Humax).....but all channels hanging on at 50%Q in the evening ...thanks to the new Feedhorn...apart from BBC HD red button......
Where do i look for PM messages....?
Looks pretty much the same as ever to me.sorry .....just checked....ch5 now at the lowest daytime clear weather Q ive seen ??......whats changed...??
Don't forget it's a 1.25M dish! What 2F UK channels are you looking at?Just seen your other post ....Tony....your signal strength and Q on 2F europe is low....??...never mind your 2F uk Q.....is your dish set up properly...?,....you should have about 90-100% Q on 2F Europe beam......maybe your multiswitch has a high through loss....As a test Try connecting directly to the sat box...an see if you get a big inprovement .....
All 2F uk ..are at 100% Q here....at the mo....(1 pm)
Skew looks OK.... And should be as they were setting up across 4 specific 2F frequencies (VH, VL, HH, HL) and a meter where you can plug in the transponder and/or frequency (although not being on the ladder!,,).... But I will have a closer comparison over the weekend when I go up on the roof! I assume you mean 7 when facing the dish?Hi Tony......on your sky box you should easy have 100% Q..on 1N..!..?...here in Munich we get 100%q on. 100cm dish...!!.....did you have the same Multiswitch in Munich..?....as for BT sports HD ..that is on 2F Europe beam......so that also should be no prob....!.....I've got a opticum multiswitch that seems ok ...only 65 euro from amazon De...maybe worth a try.......I still think your signal reports are too low......even for a 125 Gibby .....Ps I was looking at the usual ch5,4HDand red button HD...they was at 100%q ...but have now dropped to 70% Q...(Humax)........
I' m thinking..... Maybe the German installers have got the skew wrong...for 28.2 the LNb needs to be at about the 7oclock position .....not the 5 o'clock position needed for German sat At 19.2..,Maybe you can have a look ...or maybe post a pic...?
Yep, you are correct, NO skew... from the ground it's difficult to see.Yes 7oclock ..as you look at the dish..maybe a bit less .....we are close to the edge....but your 1N and 2F Q..daytime ...is less than I would expect .....hope the new multiswitch does the trick......
OK, just added Gibertini feedhorn to my 1.25M Gibertini dish.... a significant improvement......
By the way Steve, thanks for pushing me into checking the skew - I just hope it makes a big difference.Hi....... strs 65...........all LNBs have a feed horn...The usual 40mm ones have a feedhorn built in behind the plastic cap on the front of the LNB..........The feedhorns we are talking about are C120 Flange Feedhorns....Usually used on bigger dishes..120cm..And upwards.........The ones I know are made by Raven/Andrews , Gibertini, And Invacom.......The Gibby Feedhorn is best to get if you have a Gibby Dish.......As the Raven Feedhorn needs mods ..to make it fit on a Gibby dish...!!........Also A C120 flange LNB is also needed with a C120 flange Feedhorn...Invacom & Inverto do these types of LNBs
The Gibertini feedhorn is for both 125 and 150 Gibertini dishes.Sorry for the little off topic, but what is this feedhorn for (and where did you get it)? Is it made for the 125 offset Gibertini? I had no idea that there was such a thing.
